Competition Terms & Conditions

LUXECHANCE – TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Promoter

The promoter of all competitions is Rift Competitions Ltd (“the Promoter”), a UK-based prize draw company operating online at www.riftcompetitions.com. Registered in England & Wales, Company Number 16818555. Registered office: 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ.

Email: info@luxechance.com.

2. The Competition

2.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to every competition listed on the promoter’s website at https://luxechance.com(“the Website”). luxechance.com

2.2 All competitions run by the Promoter are skill-based prize competitions. For paid online entries, an entry fee is payable for each entry. Where the Promoter uses an easier or multiple-choice question, a free postal entry route is available.

2.3 To have a valid chance of winning, each person who enters (an “Entrant”) must correctly answer the Competition Question or skill-based task set for that competition.

3. How to Enter

Paid Entry Route
  • 3.1 Each competition will run from the Opening Date to the Closing Date specified on the Website. All dates and times are based on London, England time.

    3.2 In genuinely unavoidable circumstances, the Promoter may change an Opening Date and/or Closing Date. If that happens, updated details will be shown on the Website. The Promoter will not move the Closing Date purely to sell more entries.

    3.3 All entries must be received by the Promoter no later than the time and date stated as the Closing Date. Entries received after that time may be disqualified without any refund.

    3.4 The maximum number of entries for each competition will be stated on the Website. Your ability to enter may be limited if that maximum is reached.

    3.5 Entrants may enter a competition as many times as they wish up to any per-person limit and until the overall entry limit for the competition is reached.
    – Each free postal entry must be posted separately.
    – Bulk or multiple entries in a single envelope will only count as one entry.

    3.6 To enter a competition online (paid route), you must:

    (a) visit the Website and view the Competition Question;
    (b) choose your answer and select the number of entries you want;
    (c) complete the online registration and checkout process;
    (d) complete payment; and
    (e) repeat this process if you want more entries, up to the maximum allowed per Entrant or until all entries are taken.

    3.7 All entries must be submitted in English. Entries in any other language will be disqualified and no refund given.

    3.8 Unless you use the free postal entry method, the Promoter will send confirmation that your entry has been received and issue your entry number(s).

    3.9 The Promoter is not responsible for entries that fail, are incomplete, or are delayed for any reason, including technical, network, system, server or software issues of any kind.

    3.10 By buying entries and submitting an online entry, you are entering into a contract with the Promoter and agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

    3.11 You may enter a competition for free by post if you meet all the conditions below:

    (a) Send your entry on an unenclosed postcard or plain sheet of paper by first- or second-class post to:
    Luxechance Ltd – Free Entry
    71–75 Shelton Street
    Covent Garden
    London
    WC2H 9JQ

    (b) Hand-delivered entries will not be accepted or entered into any draw.

    (c) Your postal entry must include:
     (i) Your luxechance user ID (found in your online account);
     (ii) Confirmation that you are 18 or over;
     (iii) Confirmation that your account contact details (name, address, email, phone) are correct;
     (iv) The exact name of the competition you want to enter (exactly as it appears on the Website) and your answer to the Competition Question;
     (v) A statement confirming that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

    (d) Entries that are incomplete, illegible or not properly filled out may be disqualified.

    (e) You can submit multiple free entries for a competition (up to any entry limits set by the Promoter), but each free entry must be posted separately in its own envelope or card. Multiple entries in one envelope will be treated as one single entry.

    (f) By sending a postal entry, you confirm that you are eligible to enter, and that you accept these Terms and Conditions.

    (g) Your postal entry must arrive before the Closing Date. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be entered into any draw. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.

    (h) The Promoter will not send confirmation that your postal entry has been received, nor whether your answer is correct.

    (i) If the competition reaches its overall entry cap before your free entry is processed, your postal entry will not be included in the draw.

    (j) You must have created an online account on the Website before your postal entry is processed. All details on your postal entry must match your account details, including a valid UK address and phone number. Postal entries received from people without a registered account cannot be processed.

    (k) If your free entry is not on an unenclosed postcard or single sheet as specified, it may not be processed.

    (l) If a competition has an entry fee that is lower than the cost of second-class postage, the Promoter may, at its discretion, assign multiple entries for each valid postal entry up to the approximate value of the postage

4. Choosing A Winner

4.1 Depending on the format of the competition, the Promoter may use different methods to identify the winner:

(a) Standard draws: All entrants who have given a correct answer are entered into a pool, and a winner is chosen at random. The random draw will take place as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within 7 days of the Closing Date (the “Draw Date”).

(b) Instant wins (if used):
– Entrants who meet the entry conditions will be allocated an entry number after payment or, for free entries, after processing.
– A random number generator (RNG) or automated system may be used to allocate or select instant win numbers.
– If an entrant’s number matches an instant win number stated on the Website, they win the corresponding instant prize.

(c) Auto-draws (if used):
– The Promoter may use an automated draw system to select winners once the Closing Date is reached or the entry limit is met.
– For instant win formats, the system may automatically match entries to instant win numbers and record any wins.

4.2 Entrants’ names and entry numbers may be compiled into a list or spreadsheet that could be published on the Website and/or displayed during any live draw.
If you do not want your name to appear, you must email info@luxechance.com as soon as possible after entering and at least 48 hours before any live draw.

4.3 For help with entries or questions about the draw, please email info@luxechance.com.

5. Eligibility

5.1 Competitions are open only to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 or over, except:

(a) employees of the Promoter;
(b) employees of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration;
(c) members of the immediate families or households of anyone in (a) or (b).

5.2 By entering, you confirm that you are eligible to enter and to claim any prize. The Promoter may ask for proof of eligibility at any time. If you do not provide proof within a reasonable time, you may be disqualified.

5.3 The Promoter will not accept entries that are:

(a) automatically generated by computer or script; or
(b) incomplete or clearly not in line with the instructions.

5.4 The Promoter may disqualify you if your conduct is abusive, threatening, offensive or otherwise contrary to the spirit of the competition.

5.5 Subject to clause 11.3 below, no refunds of entry fees will be given, including where:

(a) You later discover you were not eligible to enter or claim the prize;
(b) Eligibility rules change after you enter, making you ineligible;
(c) You are disqualified for breaching these Terms or behaving improperly.

5.6 If an entrant is involved in any of the following:

(a) fraud or attempted fraud;
(b) dishonest misrepresentation;
(c) deliberate concealment of key information;
(d) hacking, tampering or interfering with the Website or competition systems; or
(e) unauthorised modification or misuse of any code or software used by the Website,

then all of that entrant’s entries may be voided, no refunds will be given and the entrant may be banned from all future competitions.

6. The Prize

6.1 All correct entries (paid and postal) are entered into a random draw.

6.1 Each competition’s prize (the “Prize”) is described on the relevant page of the Website. Prize details are accurate to the best of the Promoter’s knowledge at the Opening Date.

6.2 Prizes are subject to availability. If necessary, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. If prize details change, the Website will be updated as soon as reasonably possible.

6.3 Unless stated otherwise on the competition page:

  • No insurance is included with any prize.

  • The Promoter does not guarantee the value of third-party gift cards, vouchers or holiday bookings beyond what is supplied.

  • The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage relating to the use of electronics, holidays or other items once delivered.

6.4 Some prizes may be supplied by third-party suppliers (the “Supplier”). Any additional terms from the Supplier may apply to how the prize is used or redeemed.

6.5 The Promoter may, at its discretion, offer a cash alternative where:

(a) the advertised prize becomes unavailable; or
(b) circumstances outside the Promoter’s control make supplying the original prize unreasonable.

6.6 Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable unless the Promoter agrees otherwise in writing.

7. Winners

7.1 The Promoter’s decision regarding the winner is final. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into about the outcome.

7.2 The winner’s full name may be announced during a live or recorded draw. If you wish your name to be shortened or anonymised, you must email info@luxechance.com with reasonable time before the draw.

7.3 The Promoter will contact the winner as soon as practicable after the Draw Date, using the phone number or email provided when entering.
If the winner cannot be reached, does not respond, or fails to claim the prize within 21 days of first contact, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternate winner from the remaining correct entries.

7.4 The alternate winner will then have 21 days from notification to accept the prize. If they do not, the process may be repeated until a winner accepts.

7.5 The Promoter must be able to demonstrate that prizes have been properly awarded. To comply with advertising and regulatory standards, the Promoter may publish the winner’s full name and county/town on the Website.

7.6 If you object to publication of your surname or location, you must email info@luxechance.com before the Closing Date. In that case, the Promoter may still be legally required to provide your details to regulators such as the Advertising Standards Authority if requested.

8. Claiming The Prize

  • 8.1 You must claim the prize personally. It cannot normally be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

    8.2 Details of how the prize will be delivered or collected will be stated on the Website or provided when you are contacted as the winner.

    8.3 If your personal or contact details change after you enter, you must notify the Promoter by email to info@luxechance.com as soon as possible, including:
    – the competition name,
    – your old contact details,
    – your new contact details.
    If your details change within 10 days of the Closing Date, the Promoter may still attempt to contact you using your previous details.

    8.4 Cash prizes will normally be transferred directly to the winner’s bank account. The Promoter may require proof that the account belongs to the winner (solely or jointly). Failure to provide this within 14 days may lead to disqualification and forfeiture of the prize; another winner may then be selected.

    8.5 The Promoter is not responsible and will not pay compensation if you are unable to, or choose not to, take up the prize for any reason.

9. Limitation of liability

9.1 As far as the law allows, the Promoter and its agents or distributors are not responsible or liable for any loss, damage, personal injury or death arising from taking part in a competition or accepting a prize, except where this is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10. Data protection and publicity

10.1 By entering, you agree that any personal data you provide may be used by the Promoter, its agents and suppliers only to run the competition, contact you about entries or prizes, and for any related compliance or auditing.

10.2 Full details of how we handle personal data are set out in our Privacy Policy, available on the Website.

10.3 If you win, you agree that the Promoter may use your name and county/town for winner announcements, unless you have requested anonymity in advance as set out in clause 7.6.

10.4 You may be asked to participate in promotional content (photos, short videos, testimonials). You are free to decline; this does not affect your chance of winning.

10.5 You have rights under data protection law to access your data, correct it, or request deletion. However, if you ask us to delete or stop using your contact details before the prize is awarded, we may be unable to contact you as a winner and you may forfeit the prize without refund of your entry fee.

10.6 If you do not wish any of your personal details to be used for marketing or promotional emails, you can inform the Promoter at any time by emailing info@luxechance.com or using any unsubscribe link in our emails.

11. General

11.1 The Promoter may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on the Website.

11.2 If the Promoter believes you have broken these Terms, it may, at its discretion, exclude you from the current competition and/or future competitions.

11.3 The Promoter may declare a competition void, suspend, cancel or amend it where necessary due to circumstances outside its control.
In such cases, any entry fees already paid will be refunded.

11.4 There is no minimum number of entries. The Promoter will not cancel, delay or extend a competition solely because of low entry numbers. The draw will take place and the prize will be awarded regardless of how many entries are received, provided the competition is not otherwise voided under these Terms.

11.5 Competitions run on the Website are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or any other social media platform. By entering, you agree that those platforms have no liability relating to the competitions.

11.6 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes.

11.7 You are advised to print or save a copy of these Terms & Conditions for your own records.

12. Anti–Money Laundering Policy

12.1 In addition to complying with relevant UK laws on prize competitions and gambling, the Promoter has put in place measures intended to prevent its systems being used for money laundering, terrorist financing or any other criminal activity.

12.2 Luxechance Ltd is committed to:

  • Reducing the risk that its services are used to disguise illegal funds;

  • Meeting any applicable regulatory obligations;

  • Cooperating with law-enforcement and regulatory bodies where required.

12.3 To support this commitment, the Promoter will:

(a) Designate a person within the business who is responsible for overseeing anti-money-laundering (AML) reporting and internal procedures;
(b) Take reasonable steps to verify the identity of customers where appropriate;
(c) Maintain secure records of customers and transactions;
(d) Retain identification and transaction data for a reasonable period as required by law;
(e) Provide staff (where relevant) with guidance or training on recognising and reporting suspicious activity;
(f) Periodically review and update its AML controls and procedures;
(g) Investigate unusual, large or complex patterns of activity that might indicate money laundering or terrorist financing;
(h) Not knowingly allow anonymous or fictitious accounts;
(i) Restrict customers to one account per individual;
(j) Where possible, pay winnings or refunds back to the same payment method used for deposit;
(k) Refuse to accept cash payments;
(l) Terminate accounts where false or misleading information has been provided;
(m) Report knowledge or suspicion of money laundering or terrorist financing to the appropriate authorities;
(n) Cooperate with relevant authorities in preventing and detecting criminal activity.
